On 17th Sept Rtn Zainab Patel, DEI Changemaker, Transgender Rights Advocate and Social Entrepreneur addressed the Members on “Lessons from My Life: Inclusion Beyond Policy, The Power of Belonging – Rotary as a Home for All” at IMC, Churchgate.
She launched the First Transgender Cafe. Started with 40 people now there are more than 400 people and they have started five to six new Cafes. Zainab has amazing resilience. From being sexually abused as a child, to 3 attempted suicides, to being thrown out by her family, to achieving great heights in education - a MBA, extraordinary career and entrepreneurship. Zainab is a leading voice for LGBTQ+ inclusion in India and has been a true change maker in building awareness and driving social progress. Just prior to the Meeting Rtn Tahera Mandviwala spoke on "Rotary Verified Business".
