Presentation cum Discussion on Ashtanga Yog.

Rtn H Madhavan, a member of RCV, HERITAGE and Former Executive Director at ONGC gave a very informative and interactive talk on Ashtanga Yog. He shared his experiences with all present and made the entire session thought provoking. The PPT was self explanatory Mr Madhavan put forward the misconceptions that people in our society have about Yog. He laid stress on trying to inculcate Yog so as to take ones life to a different realm of Spiritualism. Ashtanga Yog also known as the "Eight limbs of Yog" outlined by Maharshi Patanjali comprises of eight steps, Yam (Ethical conduct), Niyam(Self discipline), Asana (Physical Postures), Pranayam (Breath control), Pratyahar (Withdrawal of senses), Dharana (Concentration), Dhyaan (Meditation) and Samadhi(Spiritual enlightenment). Together these practices promote physical well being, mental clarity and Spiritual growth. This guides individuals to self realization and inner peace.
