Local Gaushala Visit by RC Daman 12th Apr 2024.
The Rotary Club of Daman organized a visit to Shree Murlidhar Gir Cow Farm, where we were warmly welcomed by the owners, including Mr. Pratik. We learned about the various cows they keep, their care, and witnessed the milking process, including techniques for handling calves. Discussions included topics like crossbreeding and the significance of the Gir cow breed, which dominates their cowshed. Following the tour, we enjoyed a presentation on the origin and global importance of Gir cows. Refreshments were served as we learned about milk processing in their pasteurization plant. The freshly prepared milk was a hit with everyone. Gratitude was expressed for the visit, and plans were made for future educational visits, including one for students from Kunta School, an adopted village under Rotary Anandgram.
