"Free Eye Check-up Camp"
"Free Eye Check-up Camp" was organised in association with Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath, Health & Family Welfare Department, Primary Health Centre Adyar and Wenlock District Hospital on 3rd September, 2024 at Ambedkar Bhavan, Adyar Paravu, Mangaluru. The camp was meant for screening of patients for eye check-up & cataract detection and non-communicable diseases. All the persons above the age of 30 years were screened for Diabetes and Hypertension. Total 125 people are screened for cataract while 5 cases of cataract were detected. 35 Nos of free spectacles (reading glasses) were distributed to the beneficiaries. During the camp, 80 Nos of Ayushman Bharat (ABHA) cards were also generated and given to the beneficiaries. 6 people were screened for Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar and Haemoglobin count. People identified for cataract were taken to District Wenlock Hospital for free Cataract surgery with Intraocular lens. Free transportation was arranged along with an attendant.
