PUBLIC IMAGE PROJECT: RIVER PURNA, PROJECT PURNAUTHAN

Cleaning the environment is the key to the existence and survival of life on planet earth. Maintaining a clean environment reduces pollution, preserves our biosphere.
For the last six years, under this campaign, the Purnaruthan project has been going on continuously to stop the pollution of river Purna.
We Rotary club of Navsari along with Rotaract club of young Turks and Rotaract club of Harijyot are doing this mega project on the occasion of Ganesh Visarjan.
We practice this project where we collect all biodegradable offerings mainly flowers, coconuts, grains like rice, wheat, lentils, fruits etc.
we use all these offerings to make organic Vermi composite fertilizer. We collect nearly more than 10 tonnes of biodegradable offerings like flowers and Save Our River Purna.On Ganesh Visarjan day Rotarians, spouses, kids, Rotaractors spend full day and collect all offered flowers, garlands, coconuts and fruits.
Special thanks to project chair PP Rtn.Lalitbhai Thummer,Rtr.Shaveer Suariwala,Rtr.Durva Desai and Team Rotaractars for arranging everything.Thanks to volunteers of Rotaractars,Sitaram Seva Sangathan , Akhil bhartiya parishad students & RSS were appreciated for their relentless efforts and selfless work towards the environment.This drive wouldnt have been a feat without the cooperation of various organisations and volunteers,and also thanks to Navsari agriculture University for providing a dumping site and undertaking the process of making organic compose.
The main focus of this project is on keeping the river Purna clean and create awareness of the same.
