Flood Relief Activity at Junagadh
Continuous rainfall in Junagadh and nearby area during last week has led to a flood-like situation in Junagadh. Kalwa River in Junagadh was also in spate, affecting normal life in the region. Many families have lost their homes. Nearly 3000 people have been shifted to safer places. Junagadh city recorded 241 mm rainfall in the 24-hour period, causing waterlogging in several parts, leaving damaged cars piled on each other and carcasses of cattle swept away in flash floods. RC Junagadh and Rotaract Club of Junagadh started relief activities. Prepared Ration kits including Wheat flour, edible oil, biscuits, tea, sugar, sault packet, rice etc including plastic for shelter. Team identified the needy peoples and distributed around 300 kits flood relief kits among the needy families
