Draft Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment)
Draft Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2023 (“Draft Amendment”) seeks to amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017 (“Principal Rules”) incorporating Accessibility Standards in the Port Sector (“Standards”) as notified by the Ministry of Port, Shipping and Waterways. These Standards seek to ensure that facilities are made usable for persons with disabilities and other user groups in the context of the built environment and services associated with the transportation of cargo and passengers.
