HUM HONGE KAMYAAB, Rotary Literacy Project
We started this project in August 2012, with the purpose of helping these girls in improving their academics. The inmate of Gov. Juvenile Home for Girls are mostly from tribal areas with parents from poor economical group that cannot afford to send them to school or pay for extra coaching classes. We started with 75 girls and our main concern was to improve the 10th Class board result. Every year very few girls were able to clear these exams, but since years, now 70% of the girls are able to clear their board exams. This is a major boost up for our morale, each year we start with revised plans and more teachers are involved along with our volunteers, to give them regular practice and help in daily studies.
